Vivo ut Serviam

“Give freely to the world these gifts of love and compassion. Do not concern yourself with how much you receive in return, just know in your heart it will be returned.”
— Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

I am asked all the time by friends and family and colleagues “Why are you so nice to people?”

You know, I grew up having to struggle for a long time. I am still struggling, but the difference between then and now is that I have a group of friends that is rooting for me. They know my flaws and my weaknesses and they are still 100 percent there for me.

Years ago, talking about my dreams and my goals to people would seem impossible. Expressing myself to people was difficult. I was invisible with nothing and one day someone was willing to give me an opportunity to do something great and they believed in me. That was all it took. My life has changed for the better. I can do something I love and do it well and it became a therapy to heal. That kindness is a reminder to have strength and to keep going.

I want to give people love and an opportunity for them to change their life and do something great. To find their craft and heal through their work. To have a voice… because I believe in them. I do not have to know them or it does not have to be a personal relationship there. All it takes is an act of kindness and much service for others just like me.
